These Medical Examiners have completed the FMCSA training requirements for DOT certification based on the new Medical Examiner Certification law effective May 2012.
In compliance with the new law, every Medical Examiner on our listing has completed DOT Medical Examiner Certification Training, has a DOT identification number and is listed with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
By law all Medical Examiners will be required to follow this law to perform DOT physical examinations. If your doctor is not listed, contact your doctor's office to inquire about their certification. To become a Certified Medical Examiner you must:

Be licensed, certified, or registered in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations to perform physical examinations

Register on the National Registry System and receive a unique identifier

Complete required Medical Examiner training

Pass the Medical Examiner certification test

Report results of driver exams every month via the national registry system

Submit to periodic monitoring and audits
****
Maintain certification by completing periodic training every five years
****
Recertify by passing the ME certification exam every 10 years
